Exploration: Emotional Design In Advertising

Visceral Design:

"More Style Per Hour (Vertical)"

Mercedes-Benz are known for being a high end car. They have already achieved a level of social status, so we know people want this brand. Mercedes drive well and fast, with the car displayed on what looks like a race track they showcase how fast the car can be, giving a danger element. With the caption "More Style Per Hour" the add again achieves social status and a danger element. The car also looks very sleek in the photo which adds sex appeal.

Behavioral Design:

"Brother"

The focus of this add is the ease of use. The caption "1 CLICK AHEAD" lets the audience know how the camera is easy to use and modern. The image reflecting a pregnant woman calls upon the need to capture images quickly as time flies by. This is a must have quality.

Reflective Design:

"Beach"

This add call upon our cultural standard to maintain a fit body. With the caption "Fitting that what gets you ready for the beach is filled with sand." gives an ironic twist on how the beaches sand that we want to get beach body ready for, is used in wight training. Getting fit is a long term benefits goal as well.
