This week I viewed the Adobe Audition CS6 Essential Training
on Lynda.com. I’ve had no prior experience with audio programs other than
importing audio to PowerPoint and iMovie. This entire session was very valuable
to me because I have never worked with Adobe Audition. Honestly I’d never even
heard of it before. What I found to be
the most beneficial for me was the “working with Video” portion. I work with
video most often to learning how to sync a soundscape to my videos was great!
It was nice to know that there’s any easy way to sync audio to the video as the
video is playing, using “Multitrack Session.” It was also great to know about
how to import audio from Premiere Pro to add to the Premiere audio within
Audition. I loved that last week I learn about Premiere and saw this week how
to work Premiere and Audition together.

Week 4 RISE Peer Review
I will be
evaluating Cory Sinnot's project. Cory, I loved your topic because it relates to mine
in that they both involve the video game industry. I also thought your survey questions
were thoughtful and laid out in order that makes the most sense. I like that in
your synopsis you recap the goal you had for your survey and the data you were
trying to collect. I also think you idea to create a medium for the Video Game
Community (VGC) is a great idea and that reflected in the data you observed.
I would have
liked to see actual numbers throughout your synopsis, meaning you could say
something like 12 out of 21 participants enjoy watching other people play video
games. Or you could even say something like 100% surveyed believe Quality is
more important in a YouTube video than quantity.
I thought
your Infographic was great! Lastly, your GoogleDoc shows the same document
twice but the second one doesn’t load all the way (the duplicate). I would just
make sure to remove the duplicate in your final. Overall Cory, I think you did
a fantastic job and you gained the information you needed from your survey.

Lynda Certificate Activity: Adobe Premiere Pro
Having never used Adobe Premiere Pro, all of these video
tutorials were beneficial to me. I have very little experience video editing
and when I have done editing for past Full Sail classes, I’ve only used video
editing applications on my phone and iMovie on my Mac. Having a long tutorial
using almost every aspect of Premiere Pro was very helpful, especially when
showing tutorials using all different types of videos from sports to fantasy
movies. It was really fun to see how certain effects change the film and how to
utilize those effects in these films.
I loved learning how to stabilize film because I only create
videos using my iPhone currently as I don’t have a camera. So my films become
very shaky, so learning several different ways to help stabilize and synthesize
the video for many different types of cameras is awesome!

MCPP Portfolio Project Submission: MCBS Course - English Composition - Appeal for Action Essay: Indies Meet the Media
Star Rating Sought: 1 Star Approval Rating
Project Description:
For this project in English Composition 1, we were asked to
create an essay based on a topic we believe needs improvement. For my topic I
wanted to focus on the industry I plan to dive into after I graduate, which is
the gaming industry. My essay was about the need for independent (or Indie)
developers to execute good PR and marketing strategies, which is essential for
their success.
Link to Project:
Feedback Received:
My instructor and peers asked me to change my introductory
paragraph to reflect the message of the entire essay sooner. They felt the
message/topic was better explained in the second paragraph. I was also asked to
use more quotes from the references I found to better communicate the need for
good PR in the independent gaming industry. Finally, I was asked to make small
changed to my References page.
Resources Utilized:
For this project I needed access to Microsoft Office
software. I used Microsoft Word to complete this project.
Best regards,
Taylor Kearney
